BWUComminityLogotrans1Under the guidance of Chairman Chris Lewis and Director of Football Guillem Balagué, we aim to challenge the status quo of lower league football in England and change it forever! We’re at the beginning of what we hope and anticipate to be an extremely exciting journey for this club. We believe in an approach to football that is not only played the right way, but unites people and communities who have a passion for all aspects of football.

Our Mission

We truly believe that behind every great club is a loyal and engaged community. Our mission is to coach and play football in the ‘right’ way. From the grass roots all the way to the very top taking the local community on this journey with us.

The Power of Football

A new project driven by our Director of Football Guillem Balagué, The Power of Football is embraced by everyone at Biggleswade United FC. We believe that the universal language of football should enable everyone to work with young people to improve their football and social skills.

We want to inspire young people to achieve their goals and be empowered not only on the football pitch but in life. We believe that football is one of the most powerful tools in the world for inspiring young people to realise their full potential.

We believe that football should be accessible to everyone and that all involved should be able to access the best support possible. This includes all aspects across coaching, education, refereeing, playing and parenting. Our goal is to create an infrastructure which supports everyone.

Coaching Objectives

⇒    Development and evolution of players across all teams.
⇒    Teaching of both sporting and social values.
⇒    Inspire a healthy lifestyle.
⇒    Create a professional coaching environment.
⇒    Provide physios and sports therapists for players.

Inspiring Communities

Our desire is to inspire communities across the globe, not only on the football pitch but off it as well. We have a commitment to improve lives through football, building relationships with local communities and developing sustainable partnerships with businesses and organisations who have a strong synergy with our values and ambitions.

We’re working with the local communities and schools to embed a new philosophy for football and generate broader support on life after school and education. We currently work alongside 2 educational institutes: North Herts College and The Knights Templar School, both of whom offer fantastic educational facilities across a wide range of subjects. Our partnerships bring a variety of benefits to everyone involved including shared facilities and coaches along with opportunities for students and players alike to further their development and set the foundations for their life ahead.

We’re also collaborating with partners such as Innovation On-Site, specialists within the Carpentry , Timber Frame & Window Packages industry. Innovation On-Site evolve through promoting the localism of their workforce and a robust training plan for every employee. They’ve been recognized both nationally as a ‘Top 100 Employer’ and locally as Bedfordshire’s company of the Year 2014 for training and development.

Charity Partners

We’re working closely with 2 key charity partners: Football Beyond Borders and England Homeless FA. Both of these amazing charities work closely with individuals who have varying backgrounds and experiences with the aim to empower individuals to gain vital life skills within a safe and trusting environment with the aim to positively transform their lives. Our aim for the charity partnerships is simple; we aim to support our chosen charities however and wherever we can in order for them to continue their great work, some of the schemes include:

⇒    Raise awareness of the great work our chosen charities are undertaking.
⇒    Allow access to our coaches and coaching facilities.
⇒    Support charity events with volunteers allowing access to our team of staff to support.
⇒    Allowing access to our team of staff to support.
⇒    Hold events throughout the year to raise donations and awareness for each charity.

We’re always happy to hear from new potential partners who share our values, if you’re interested in working with us please get in touch on email info@biggleswadeunited.com
