Football Beyond Borders is a registered UK charity which uses the power of football to tackle inequality and provide opportunities for young people to achieve their goals and make their voices heard. The core FBB methodology combines football training sessions delivered by FA qualified coaches with mentoring and tutoring programmes focused on giving educational and employment support to young people in some of London’s most deprived estates and schools.
• Our FBB Schools programme combines high quality football coaching, tutoring, peer mentoring and international travel for groups of underperforming students at schools around London.
• Our FBB Wanderers programme uses football to breakdown borders of class and race and to empower young people to achieve their goals. It is built around an 11-a-side team who play weekly matches in South London. Older university graduates working in a range of professional fields play the dual role of teammates and mentors to participants aged from 16-21 from disadvatanged backgrounds in south London.
FBB Women’s Football
• Our FBB Women’s Football programme offers free-of-charge football training sessions to get more women playing football. The sessions are women-only, open to all ages an abilities and are run by young female coaches seeking to make their way in professional coaching.
• FBB TV is our very own youth-led football media platform that provides young people from our programmes with the training and opportunities to produce their own media. Our young presenters have interviewed important figures in football such as Premier League stars Santi Cazorla and Yannick Bolasie, England Women’s footballer Fara Williams, Sky Sport’s pundit Guillem Balague, BBC journalist Leon Mann and more.
