BUFC Academy Roundup
U7s played at home to Lea Sports PSG.
U8s Blues played away to BSCFC. Fran Constancio: “Our squad has been much better than their opposition. Unlucky today on the scores as we got dominated but missed a lot of chances.”
U8s Reds played away to Bassingbourne. Ben Amos: “Our positional play was not very good in first half, but after halftime it was a lot better which was reflected in the final score.”
U8s Yellows played at home to Somerries FC. Dogan French: “Good passages of play created chances but just couldn’t score.”
U8s Oranges played at home to St Joseph FC. Dogan French: “Plenty of interchanging positions between the boys, and pass and move scenarios. Discipline and concentration were good.”
U11s Reds played at home to Baldock Town Templars. Simon Warwick: “The first half we started very well and put Baldock under a lot of pressure and it paid dividends a couple times. It was very close at half-time but our high pressure and high tempo in the second half were brilliant.”
U11s Blues played at home to Bishops Stortford Wanderers. Pearse Hamilton: “Arguably the better, more organised team. Created loads of chances but perhaps not helped by only having 9 players again as we couldn’t change the team around too much during the game.”
U13s lost 4-1 at home to Bedford Town Youth. Tim: “One of the favourites in our league so a goal conceded after 38 seconds did us no favours. Plenty of spirit shown by the boys and the opposition coaches said we were the best footballing team they had played this season.
But still annoyed at our players turning up for games half asleep. Could have been a different game if we started properly.”
U15s lost 3-1 away to Luton Borough. Darren: “Found ourselves 1-0 down in 10 minutes and 1-1 in 20 minutes conceded a goal seconds before halftime so went in 2-1 down! Due to two early injuries and no subs found ourselves on the back foot for most of the second half could definitely do with a few more players.”
U16s won 3-1 at home to Buntingford. Tony Deitsch: “It was our last league game in division 2 as we are moving up to division 1 next weekend. Good result to prove that we should be playing better competition and being challenged each week. Still more work to do through the midfield and playing calmer and quicker from the back. Another ridiculous goal from outside the box as well by Seth Robinson to make it 2-1.”
U18s won 4-1 away to Buckhurst Hill in the EJA Cup. Sam Goodman: “A better performance, more passing through the midfield and utilising the work we’ve been doing in training of playing out from the back. Still more work to be done especially being more lethal from set pieces and crosses.”
